The Berkeley Staff Assembly recently announced the recipients of this year's Excellence in Management Award, who are recognized for leading their teams and team members to meaningful accomplishments this past year. This year’s award theme, “Cultivating Staff, Harvesting Success: Recognizing Excellence in Management” highlights leaders who excel in cultivating their staff, leading to overall success for the team and the organization.

A partnership of the Associated Students University of California (ASUC) and campus leaders in the Division of Administration have partnered to plan for the implementation of an additional 16-17 blue light emergency phones over the next 1-4 years. officially announced Jason's appointment to Director of Emergency Management, effective January 2024. Here is  more about Jason:

With the November/December/January holiday season just around the corner, an outline of service impacts is available that the UC Berkeley campus may experience related to some of our divisions operating on a modified schedule and/or closed during certain periods. Consistent with previous years, we want to allow staff the opportunity to take accrued vacation time, rest and rejuvenate, and to ramp up for 2024.

The Chancellor's Outstanding Staff Awards (COSA) are presented each year to individuals and teams from our staff community who, in addition to performing their normal job duties with excellence, demonstrate exceptional initiative in contributing to the Berkeley campus community. These awards are among the highest honors bestowed upon staff by the Chancellor.  This year's recipients were recently recognized at a 4/25/23 awards ceremony.
