We enable a stronger Berkeley through essential services and bold solutions.

With more than 1,700 staff across ten departments, the Administration Division advances Berkeley’s mission by keeping the university operating safely, sustainably, and efficiently. We serve as the backbone of campus—delivering the essential systems, services, and expertise that make Berkeley’s teaching, research, and public service possible.

Our Departments

Led by Vice Chancellor Marc Fisher, the Administration Division brings together ten departments: Berkeley IT, Berkeley Regional Services, Capital Strategies, Disability Access & Compliance, Environment, Health & Safety, Facilities Services, Parking & Transportation, People & Culture, Supply Chain Management, and the UC Police Department.

Each department has its own specialized focus—ranging from technology and human resources to facilities management, public safety, and strategic planning. Together, they operate as One Administration Team, unified by a common purpose: to enhance campus life, steward resources responsibly, and deliver services that enable Berkeley to thrive.

Our Priorities

The Administration Division’s priorities are guided by a clear commitment to UC Berkeley’s success. We focus on three goals that shape our work:

  • Enhance campus life by improving the student, faculty, and staff experience through responsive services and collaboration.

  • Strengthen financial stewardship by managing resources with transparency, discipline, and long-term impact.

  • Build a unified division by fostering trust, empowering people, and cultivating shared values.

From maintaining critical infrastructure to advancing sustainability and improving services, we are focused on delivering what the campus needs today while preparing for the challenges ahead.

Our People

At the heart of the Administration Division are nearly 1,700 dedicated employees whose work keeps UC Berkeley running every day. Their expertise, professionalism, and integrity make the university’s mission possible.

We approach our work with strategy, not reaction. We use data to inform decisions, embrace innovation, and continuously seek ways to improve.

We believe our people are our greatest strength. That’s why we prioritize a positive and inclusive employee experience—one that supports collaboration, growth, and well-being. We build trust, encourage innovation, and empower every individual to take initiative and contribute meaningfully. When our people thrive, the university thrives.

At UC Berkeley, the Administration Division makes the university’s mission possible. We act with purpose, deliver with reliability, and embrace innovation—because fulfilling Berkeley’s mission means working smarter, together.
