Lunch with Marc
In fall semester 2025, Vice Chancellor Marc Fisher is launching a new initiative, Lunch with Marc. This initative is an important priority and an opportunity for Vice Chancellor Fisher to personally recognize outstanding staff, hear fresh ideas, and build stronger connections across the division.
This new program was inspired by a recent lunch with the winners of the State of the Workplace survey, where Vice Chancellor Fisher saw firsthand the value of creating more opportunities for meaningful dialogue with staff. Beginning in September 2025, each month one department will be selected. Department leadership will then choose four high-performing staff members to join Vice Chancellor Marc Fisher and Assistance Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff Courtney Chandler, for lunch at UC Berkeley’s historic Faculty Club.
The program serves two important purposes: to reward staff for their dedication and exceptional contributions to the university, and to create a forum for sharing ideas, insights, and feedback that can inform the work of the division.

- December 2025 – (no lunch due to holidays & curtailment)
- January 2026 – Supply Chain Management
- February 2026 – People & Culture
- March 2026 – Berkeley IT
- April 2026 – Facilities Services
- May 2026 – UC Police Department
- June 2026 – Disability, Access & Compliance
- July 2026 – Parking & Transportation
