The promise of a gleaming waterfront Richmond Bay Campus grew substantially brighter last week, as the UC Board of Regents signed off on an ambitious proposal to expand research collaborations between UC Berkeley, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and private industry — and bring sorely needed employment opportunities to surrounding communities.

BERKELEY – Relevent Sports, a division of RSE Ventures announced that top international clubs Real Madrid CF and Inter Milan will face off at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium on the University of California, Berkeley campus on Saturday, July 26, as part of the Guinness International Champions Cup. Kickoff for the contest, which will be broadcast internationally in more than 150 countries and domestically on Fox Sports 2, is set for 3 p.m. PDT.

Building Clean Up Week is an innovative program, sponsored by Space & Capital Resources, to help the campus community purge junk in order to create more usable space. So far, staff, faculty, and students have cleared out thousands of pounds of old furniture, chemicals, paper, and office supplies to be thrown away or recycled.

In acknowledgement of Berkeley’s hard working staff and your response to our major campus initiatives, as well as the rising cost of health care and UC Retirement Plan (UCRP) contributions, the Chancellor has approved a three percent salary increase for non-represented staff, effective Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Effective January 1, 2014, all new and replacement Cal 1 Card Photo IDs will be produced without a signature printed on the card. All existing Cal 1 Card Photo IDs are still valid and fully functional and will NOT need to be replaced.
