For too long, providing support to schools and colleges have been considered transactional services. When in fact, the staff providing those services add value and are an integral part of the research and discovery happening on campus. By bringing staff closer to the schools and colleges, the regional model will include staff in the exciting developments at Berkeley.”

UPDATE
Phase I of standing the Regions up, including Regional Associate Dean (RAD) & Regional Director (RD) hiring, CSS staff transition and space identification, is on track to complete in December.

Many decisions to be made during Phase II are dependent on the impending budget model and allocation plan due to be defined in early October.  Phase II includes: Governance & Communication, Process Evaluation & Refinements, Location Setup, and Continuous Improvement Planning.  These activities are in progress region-by-region and targeting completion prior to UCPath go-live in March '19.

UCPath & The Regional Model

UCPath is the UC system-wide HR, Payroll, Benefits system that will replace UC Berkeley's HCM system and the aging Payroll system (PPS).  This will bring all employees across the UC system into a single system.

The UCPath team is beginning to work with the Regional leadership overseeing HR/Payroll and Position Funding to ensure consistency in using UCPath as we prepare for the UCPath Go Live on the UC Berkeley campus in March 2019.  In addition, Pathfinders have been identified across the campus to help provide two-way communications with the UCPath team and to help prepare all employees for the new self-service Portal coming with UCPath.

Should you have questions or want to know more, email the UCPath team at: ucpathberkeleyinfo@berkeley.edu
