Vice Chancellor John Wilton made the following announcement in a message to the VCAF community:
Dear Colleagues,
In follow-up to my last message announcing Ron Coley’s departure on June 30, I’d like to update you on the interim plan for Business and Administrative Services (BAS). As already discussed with the BAS unit managers, we will take a two-stage approach. Initially, the units will report as outlined below. This is simply an interim measure to ensure we have the appropriate level of oversight until we, senior management, have time to discuss and develop a longer-term solution. Just to be clear, the interim solution does not provide any guidance whatsoever with respect to the longer-term solution. The latter includes the option of appointing a new associate vice chancellor with much the same portfolio.
Starting Tuesday, July 1:
- Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer Rosemarie Rae will assume responsibility for:
- Business Contracts & Brand Protection
- Procurement
- Property Management
- The Library Bindery
- Vice Chancellor for Real Estate Bob Lalanne will assume responsibility for:
- Mail Services
- Parking & Transportation
- Units reporting directly to me will include:
- Recreational Sports
- UC Police Department
- University Health Services
We are in the process of determining the interim reporting line for Environment Health & Safety and will provide you with an update in the days ahead. Please let me know if you have any questions.
